Photorealistic Augmented Reality
Résumé
The competing requirements of real-time rendering and visual realism have meant that achieving interactive photorealistic augmented reality has been a distant goal. With the advent of greatly accelerated graphics hardware and its availability in commodity desktop PCs, techniques have recently been developed that allow us to take a step closer to this target. This tutorial will present an in-depth study into the techniques required to produce photorealism at interactive rates within augmented environments, and will and consider how the realism of the resulting images can be assessed and their fidelity quantified.
