Optimizing Canonical Structures

Abstract

While expanding Mathematical Components, a library of formalized mathematics for Rocq, we observed scalability issues in the latter’s unification algorithm. We found that the performance issue comes from the handling of Canonical Structures and proposed a patch, which has been integrated into Rocq 9.0.
