L'urgence de la territorialisation du cadre des Limites Planétaires

Résumé

The concept of planetary boundaries, which is based on a biophysical analysis of the Earth, needs to be broadened to include the social dimensions of the antroposphere in order to highlight the need for an anthropological paradigm shift in our relationship with the Earth system. This expanded vision of Planetary Boundaries encourages a reassessment of how humans inhabit, exploit, appropriate and exchange, and thus changes in individual and organizational behavior at all scales. The process of territorialising the concept involves making this vision relevant at the local level, by encouraging local stakeholders to fully understand and appropriate the complexity and range of biophysical and anthropological objectives of Planetary boundaries. Territrorialization aims to change the way local stakeholders perceive and interact with the territory. The ultimate aim is to initiate a paradigm shift that goes beyond simple environmental assessment frameworks, by tackling the symbolic and cultural barriers we maintain with territories.
