Considerations on Grattan Guinness Cycle, of 391Yrs
Résumé
GGC of 391 years was applied to dates of intense eclipse cycles. A normal year will have 2 solar (S) and 2 lunar (L) eclipses for a total of 4 eclipses. This review found 8 eclipses can happen in a little as 370 days, or possibly less. Consider the year 26 to 27 AD. Here are found 3 Solar and 5 lunar eclipses in 370 days from August 1/26 AD unto August 6/27 AD. It was further found that the 6000 years of civilized history may be described in terms of GGC and the intense eclipse cycles from 1865 unto 2027. It is also determined that the Fourier series may be used to correct the mean new moon date of Vernal Equinox. The GGC is shown to predict alignment dates for Vernal Equinox and new moon conjunctions. days pseudo-epact day of January Conjunction: (1+MOD((365.242454*(-4006-Yr)),29.5306)) &if>=30, then subtract 30, by excel. Date of new moon by excel, use above with constant of 0.5 instead of 1. This method known as Astronomical Easter, verified for y2k to 2024, in particular for 2019. In 2019 astronomical method gives March Easter, rather than April. The 1997 Aleppo WCC did not adapt the astro easter method.
