MOBILESoft: G: Debugging of Mobile Apps in the Wild Guided by the Wisdom of the Crowd

Abstract

While the number of mobile apps available on app stores is immense, the quality of these apps greatly varies. Unfortunately, end-users continue experiencing bugs and crashes for some apps installed on their devices. Although developers use simulators and test their apps before deployment, many bugs still emerge in the wild. Currently, the reproduction and the diagnosis of failures that end-users experience remain a challenging task. Thus, this research investigates a crowd-sourced approach to diagnose bugs in mobile apps deployed in the wild.
