Decentralized Time-Synchronized Channel Swapping for Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract

Time-synchronized channel hopping (TSCH) [1] is currently the most efficient collision-free, interference-avoiding protocol for Wireless sensor networks (WSNs). It is now part of the IEEE 802.15.4e-2012 standard. However, all variants require some form of centralized coordination to maintain a time-frequency slotting mechanism, which leads to slow convergence and moderate slot utilization.
