An Alert Prediction Model for Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring

Abstract

A monitoring agent is build to capture monitoring parameters from a cloud {IT} infrastructure. Some of those parameters provide useful information to prevent downtime of a system. Predicting monitoring parameters are important task to prevent system downtime and very useful for planning system efficiency. In this paper we propose a predictive model that predicts monitoring parameters from cloud infrastructure logs. In our modelling approach we assume that the user is interested in specific monitoring parameters. Experiments have been conducted to evaluate the accuracy of our prediction model. Our results show the accuracy of the short-term prediction.
