An optimized MAC layer to physical device mapping methodology
Résumé
The nodes in wireless mobile networks are severely constrained in resources - computation, memory, communication and energy. Applications designed for them are elaborated with energy consumption minimization as a primary goal. In this context, this paper proposes a timed event driven finite state machine MAC layer protocol description along with a methodology for optimally mapping it to a radio device by minimizing the global energy consumed. An energy consumption model is also presented.
