Solid reconstruction from engineering drawings is one of the efficient technologies to product solid models, which has become one of the important research topics in both computer graphics and artificial intelligence. The problem of solid reconstruction from engineering drawings is captured. The taxonomy for solid reconstruction techniques is presented with the typical algorithms reviewed. After comparing the application areas of the algorithms, the open research issues are analyzed. Finally, the future work in the research field is also pointed out.
