FDTs and OSI-based Management Information Modelling: a Fruitful Wedding
Abstract
Recent advances in using Formal Description Techniques within the design and development process of OSI-based management systems are very encouraging and practical results are emerging. Based on the work done so far, the paper presents the results obtained from a field trail whose goal was to evaluate the use of Labelled transition System based Formal Description Techniques and associated tools for the specification, validation and animation of a complete Information Model. The paper also discusses some open issues in the domain.
