HairSplitter: separating similar strains in metagenome assembly
Abstract
Similar regions (typically different strains) get collapsed in a single sequence during genome assembly. HairSplitter separates the collapsed regions to obtain the phased, complete assembly, regardless of the number of haplotypes present and their coverage.
