e-Grov: making the Mexican sky accessible through a Virtual Observatory

Abstract

The e-GrOV mini data Grid project provides an infrastructure to support scientific analysis environments that process large volumes of astronomical data, thus laying a foundation for the Mexican Virtual Observatory. Two main components of the future Mexican Virtual Observatory are (i) the mediation system Andromeda that enables the transparent integration and matching of astronomical data stored in distributed databases; and (ii) the services based experiment execution environment Casiopea that enables the declarative expression of experiments thanks to its language Taurus and their execution within the e-GrOV infrastructure.
