Abstracts of Ninth International Workshop On Project Management and Scheduling
Résumé
The EURO Working Group on Project Management and Scheduling was established by Professors Luis Valadares Tavares and Jan Weglarz during the EURO VIII Conference, Lisbon, September 1986. It was decided to organize a workshop every two years. Gathering the most promising theoretical and applied advances in Project Management and Scheduling, and to assess the state-of-the-art of this field and its potential to support management systems are the objectives of these workshops. After Lisbon (1988) organized by L. Tavares, Compiègne (1990) organized by J. Carlier, Como (1992) organized by. C. Vercellis, Leuven (1994) organized by W. Herreolen, Poznan (1996) organized by J. Weglarz, Istanbul (1998) organized by G. Ulusoy, Osnabruck (2000) organized by P. Brucker, Valencia (2002) organized by V. Valls, we are very happy to have the opportunity to organize in Nancy the ninth international Workshop of the EURO Working Group Project Management and Scheduling and you are welcome in our City. The present proceedings contains 105 accepted papers included those of the invited guest speakers. We thank them very much for their careful tutorial preparation: Gerhard J. Woeginger on ``Worst case analysis of some exact approaches to Scheduling'', Willy Herroelen on ``Project Scheduling - Theory and Practice" and Pascal Richard and Joel Goossens on "Overview of Real Time Scheduling Problems". We will be more than 120 participants to follow the three plenary tutorial sessions and to divide us between three parallel sessions; 45 are coming from France, 45 from Europe and 30 are not from the E.U. 24 countries are represented. The tradition of publishing a special issue of EJOR on Project Management and Scheduling based on papers presented during the workshop will be respected as it was done since the first meeting.
