Design and comparison of lattices of topological relations: Application to satellite image understanding
Résumé
In this paper we present a study and the design of four lattices of topological relations. The applicative purpose is to help satellite image interpretation in agronomy. The lattices have been implemented within an object-based representation system in order to perform satellite image interpretation. The lattice representation has been chosen to facilitate the verification of relations on the images and the inference of relations. This paper discusses the various choices concerning the verification of relations on raster images, the methods for building lattices, and the properties of lattices. Finally we show how we have used these lattices in order to recognize spatial structures on maps based on satellite images.
