Quadratic Short Division
Abstract
In Modern Computer Arithmetic, the authors describe a
quadratic division with remainder, and mention a
factor of two speedup can be obtained when only the quotient is needed.
We give an explicit quadratic algorithm that computes an approximate quotient.
