Implementing an Event-Driven Enterprise Information Systems Architecture: Adoption Factors in the Example of a Micro Lending Case Study

Event-driven architecture (EDA) is an architectural approach for enabling communication between distributed enterprise information systems. EDA enables organisations to be adaptable, flexible and robust in the management of business processes and ultimately achieving agility. This paper reviews definitions, concepts and adoption criteria for an EDA and a case study investigates the adoption of the EDA in a micro lending organisation exploring the technological, organisational and environmental adoption factors.
