Collaborative Networks Dynamics and Social Capital: A Brazilian Case

Résumé

The ability to mobilize resources through collaborative action is understood as the social capital present in a territory. The presence of social capital can indicate how a collaborative network can be managed. Using a quantitative method, this article aims to analyze the social capital present in collaborative networks, by accessing the case of three collaborative networks in southern Brazil. The results show that social capital can be analyzed according to four factors: proximity, territorial anchorage, reciprocity and collective memory. The elements found can indicate barriers or motivators for the operation of collaborative networks.
