CONVERGENT ERROR-CONTROLLED MESH ADAPTATION
Résumé
In this paper, mesh adaptation is studied as a method for improving mesh convergence and error control. The mesh convergence under study is L 2-norm convergence of the approximation error. The novel mesh-adaptation method tends to minimize this error norm. It somehow extends the goal-oriented formulation since it is equation-based and uses an adjoint. The main novel ingredient is a corrector which evaluates the approximation error. Applications to a Poisson problem and to steady Euler flows are described.
