Application of EQuA2te Architecture in Economic Intelligence
Abstract
Economic Intelligence can be considered as the use of information for strategic decision making. From this point of view, it can be considered as a process covering two established scientific domains: information systems and decision making. Moreover, Economic Intelligence concerns all socio-economic sectors and not restricted only to companies or industries. A system that combines the proposals in Information System Aided Decision Making and User Modelling is what we term Economic Intelligence System. This paper presents our work on the use of Information Systems as a component of Economic Intelligent System through the EQuA2te (Explore, Query, Analyse and Annotate) architecture. Our work started by the study of the student modelling in computer aided education in which we proposed a model based on the evocative habits of a learner. When used as a problem solving tool, an Information System Aided Decision Making is very similar to a computer aided education system as regards their cognitive functional characteristics. We also present the use of the EQuA2te architecture for managing the information base and the knowledge on the various actors. We conclude with a brief presentation on the various topics on which we are working as a continuation of the work presented here.
