This paper deals mainly with speech recognition of deaf people at word level. A related domain is also concerned, i.e., foreign language teaching for hearing persons. We present a set of lessons that have been developed and tested for the training of isolated words. These lessons extensively use automatic speech recognition algorithm based on global and analytical Hidden Markov Models.
