Recognition of Symbols in Grey Level Line-drawings from an Adaptation of the Radon Transform.

Abstract

A method for grey level symbol recognition based on a signature computed from the Radon transform is proposed. This kind of signature has low computing time and allows to keep fundamental geometric transformations (scale, translation and rotation). Symbols are processed by defining a tridimensional signature which takes into account their variations of photometry and their shape. Experimental results on technical documents show the promising aspect of our approach.
