The use of Economic Intelligence process and information and Communication technologies to enhance strategic decision process in an enterprise
Abstract
In the economic intelligence context where many events are unpredictable, the decision maker's aim is to modify favourably his interactions with the enterprise environment. These interactions allow him to have a better understanding of the environment, to anticipate the changes and to clarify the strategic decision. In that context, information and communication technologies offer to the decision maker much more possibilities to find tools and information to enhance his decision process. In this paper, we present our approach consisting of integrating information and communication technologies, limited to the strategic information systems, to improve the decision-making in an economic intelligence process through the use of the two models MDP (model for decision problem) and WISP (model for watcher's information search problem). The model MDP makes it possible to take the first step of the decision-making process by clarifying the decision problem. The model WISP makes it possible to make the second step by proposing a methodology for translating the decision problem into information retrieval problems.
