Numerical approach to the identification of fractional differential equations and applications in epidemics

Approche numérique de l'identification d'équations différentielles fractionnaires et applications à la modélisation de la propagation d'une épidémie

Abstract

We discuss the global and partial identification problem for fractional differential equations and we provide a numerical procedure based on a global and local optimization algorithms. The model identification algorithm is implemented on a new fractional model for the propagation of the dengue disease developed in this paper, called the fractional homogeneous Nishiura model. We show that the proposed fractional model improves previous results on the modeling of the dengue propagation.
