A new hybrid control method of power electronics converters for wind turbine systems
Abstract
This paper presents the hybrid controller for a multi-level power converter used in a chain of conversion of electrical energy produced by a wind turbine. The first part is devoted to the presentation of a chain of electric power generation based on wind turbine and modeling of multilevel converter DC / AC system. Wind energy is growing at a rapid pace in the world and is becoming an important segment of the energy industry. In a wind farm each turbine generator supplies the low voltage side of a step-up transformer, either directly or via a power electronic converter. The major disadvantage of this type of converter is the imbalance branches of current. Therefore, modeling and control with Petri net is proposed to solve the problems of imbalance of currents flowing in the connection inductances of the converter. Simulations are performed to confirm the performance of the proposed control algorithms. Keywords:power converter, petri nets, hybrid dynamic systems, multi-cell chopper. wind power generation.
